Starting today, Coinbase is rolling out cbBTC – Coinbase Wrapped BTC – an ERC20 token that is backed 1:1 by Bitcoin (BTC) held by Coinbase. Chronicle has been selected to provide day-one support for cbBTC with a decentralized price feed Oracle - initially available on Base and Ethereum, and deployable on any of our supported chains.

Existing DeFi protocols and builders on Base and Ethereum can now access the cbBTC/USD price feed Oracle, and, uniquely via The Chronicle, gain an end-to-end view of the data supply chain that delivered the cbBTC price, including the original data sources, the validators that attested to the truth of the data, and the calculation that was used to arrive at the final value.

Our goal is to continue to raise the standard of blockchain oracles. More transparency, more security, more resilience, less cost. We’re proud that Coinbase decided on Chronicle’s decentralized Oracle network to support cbBTC from day-one.

Ready for deployment

The cbBTC price feed is ready to be deployed across the EVM. If you require a transparent, verifiable, and cost-efficient feed for cbBTC/USDC, cbBTC/WETH, or cbBTC/WBTC on any of our supported blockchains, or would like to integrate on Base, you can reach us via:
